DUTTY ROCK PRODUCTIONS PAYS HOMAGE TO DAVE KELLY  WITH RELEASE OF DUTTY SHOWTIME FEATURING REGGAE AND  DANCEHALL'S FINEST

New York, NY – November 7, 2024. Dutty Rock Productions is excited to introduce "Dutty  Showtime," a contemporary rendition of the iconic Showtime Riddim originally crafted by  the renowned producer Dave Kelly. This exclusive release boasts a stellar lineup of reggae  and dancehall artists, comprising established chart-toppers and promising talents in the  music scene.

Featuring tracks that highlight the exceptional artistry and innovation of artists such as  Tarrus Riley, Buju Banton, Busy Signal, Chi Chin Ching, Charley Black, J’Calm, Sotto Bless,  Ras Ajai, Ward21 and the label's very own Sean Paul, who dropped his hit single “Bring It”  earlier this summer.

The Showtime Riddim, a timeless gem born from Dave Kelly's creativity, has cemented its  legacy in Jamaican music lore. Originating in the 1990s and continuing its widespread  appeal to this day, the riddim has mesmerized audiences worldwide. Recognized in a recent Rolling Stone feature as one of the "25 Riddims That Have Defined Jamaican Music,"  it underscores its cultural impact.

Esteemed artist Sean Paul, in a 2022 interview with Vibe Magazine, expressed his  admiration for the Showtime Riddim and its influence on the dancehall genre. By releasing  his track "Bring It" on "Dutty Showtime," Sean Paul fulfills his aspiration to contribute to  this legendary riddim, infusing 90s dancehall vibes into a contemporary context.

Reggae sensation Tarrus Riley, reflecting on his experience, mentioned, “Growing up in the  90s Showtime was one of the top riddims, definitely in the top three for me. It’s a great  feeling to be part of this project today and express gratitude to Dutty Rock for the  opportunity.”

The collective reimagining of this classic riddim evokes a sense of nostalgia while  embracing a modern, up-tempo flair in the instrumentation.
